INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM SERIES

As of October 20, 2008, the International Virtual e-Hospital Foundation is starting weekly interactive multidisciplinary lectures that will be given to the Telemedicine Center of Kosova as part of the project: “Improving Health Care in the Balkans using Telemedicine, Advanced Technologies and Cultural Exchange as a Platform” supported by the U.S. State Department Bureau of Education and Cultural Exchange, Washington D.C. These lectures will include multimedia-oriented, multidisciplinary programs prepared and designed specifically for this purpose. Each Monday at 16:00 in the TCK auditorium, lectures will be given live or stored and forwarded from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Lectures will be streamed live through the Telemedicine Program of Kosova network to regional hospital remote audiences which will aid in an online interactive classroom experience. When appropriate for the program, a guest speaker will be recruited from another academic institution and the lecture will be given from their home site. Each lecture will be evaluated at the end by viewing participants.

This evaluation form will be collected by the site coordinator in Prishtina, who will also record attendance and other scheduling details. These lectures will be stored on the web site, and participants will be able to view them at a later time.

Web-Based Store and Forward Lectures

During the national holydays in Kosova, lectures will be placed on the interactive web site and will be available for viewing at a later time. These lectures with voice and video aided by PowerPoint presentations will be placed on the web site, and all participants will be required to view them. An electronic sign-in will be required, and each lecture will be followed by 5-10 minutes of questions.

Academic Program
The IVeH has assembled a superb group of experts in telemedicine, e-health, electronic library and trauma and critical care from around the world to participate as faculty on this international virtual educational program series. Each lecture will have to be reviewed during the next five working days at least once, but it will be possible to view and listen to them as many times as the participants wish. For these lectures, a web-based evaluation form will be created and filled out at the end of each session. These lectures are dedicated  to all health care providers, including practicing physicians, nurses, medical students, and administrators as well as anyone else interested in telemedicine, e-health, trauma surgery, emergency, and critical care.

Language

The entire program is in the English language.
